Belo prices $350 million in senior notes

Dallas, TX -- Belo(NYSE: BLC) announced today that it priced a $350 million public offering of senior notes on Monday, October 29, 2001. The offering is scheduled to close on Thursday, November 1, 2001.

The notes, which will mature on November 1, 2008, were priced at par with a yield of 8 percent. Belo intends to use the proceeds to repay outstanding bank debt under its revolving credit agreement.

The notes carry Belo's credit rating of BBB- by Standard & Poor's and Fitch, and Baa3 by Moody's Investors Service.
