DallasNews.com breaks one million registered user mark
Dallas, TX --Belo Interactive, the Internet subsidiary of Belo Corp., announced today that DallasNews.com, the Web site affiliated with The Dallas Morning News, has registered over one million unique users.
While DallasNews.com is free to users, registration is required to access various content sections, personalized products and services as well as special promotions and online surveys. In an easy-to-complete, one-time-only registration form, users provide information such as name, gender, age, e-mail address, hobbies and interests. In addition, users can indicate a willingness to receive e-mail messages, and they can describe their pattern of news and information consumption across affiliated Belo media properties.
"With strategic data capture at all significant touchpoints within DallasNews.com, we can begin serving real-time communication, advertising, and personalization options to our customers electronically," said Gerry Barker, general manager of DallasNews.com. "Through registration, we can offer more targeted content and communication that will represent uniquely relevant and useful information for each individual user."
DallasNews.com provides local, national and world news, as well as a variety of information services and interactive features. Registration was rolled out across Belo Interactive's network of Web sites beginning in May 2001.
