KVUE finishes February Sweeps as #1 station in Austin
Austin, TX-- Buoyed by its dominance in key time periods that include local news, Oprah and ABC programming, KVUE emerged from the February sweeps as the most watched TV station in Austin, sign on to sign off. * It is KVUE's best performance since Austin became a metered market in April 2001, up 20% compared to May 01 sweeps and follows the November 2002 win, sign on to sign off. **

At 4pm, Oprah is the #1 program and dominates the time period with a 6.4 rating and 15 share, doubling the rating and share of most other programs airing during the same time period. It was Oprah's highest rating in the Austin market since meters arrived.
At 5pm, KVUE News at 5 is up 38% year to year and leads the time period with a 8.1 rating and 17 share... an advantage of more than 3 rating points and 7 share points, a 70% advantage over other newscasts that air during the same time period.
And KVUE's 6pm Newscast is #1 with a 9.0 rating and 16 share, up 33% compared to May 01. ABC's World News Tonight is the # 1 network nightly newscast. ABC's Good Morning America won the time period, by a margin of 8 tenths of a rating point and 2 share points compared to NBC's Today Show.

(6:30-7:00) Entertainment Tonight tied for #1 with a 8.7 rating/ 15 share.
