KGW.com wins Sigma Delta Chi Award
Portland, OR -- The third award was the biggest, as kgw.com recently won the national Sigma Delta Chi award for Best Online Deadline reporting for their coverage of the Mt. Hood helicopter crash in May, 2002.
This was a national award, won over such national news organizations as NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX News and CNN.
The Sigma Delta Chi awards are presented by the Society of Professional Journalists, one of the most prestigious journalistic organizations in the world. The Society of Professional Journalists is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and our liberty.

Earlier in 2003, kgw.com was awarded the Associated Press (AP) Award for Best Website in Oregon as well as the Edward R. Murrow Award (Region One), from the Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) as Best Website.
