WHAS11 wins May sweeps!
Louisville, KY -- For the third consecutive ratings period WHAS11 News has once again clearly established itself as the number one news operation in the region. Here are some of the May, 2003 sweeps highlights:
WHAS11 News was #1 at 5:00am, 5:30am, 6:00am, 5:00pm, 5:30pm and 6:00pm Monday thru Friday.
WHAS11 News was #1 on Saturday mornings.
WHAS11 News was #1 on Sunday mornings.
WHAS11 News audience share was up year-to-year at 6:00am (8% growth), 12:00pm (12% growth), 5:00pm (19% growth), 5:30pm (19% growth) and 6:00pm (24% growth).
WHAS11 News saw it's biggest May audience share numbers since 1999 at 12:00pm, 5:00pm and 5:30pm...and biggest May share numbers since 2000 at 6:00am and 6:00pm.
WHAS11 News at 11:00pm grew its audience share 10% from its 10:45pm lead-in while WAVE grew its audience 3% and WLKY lost 6% of its lead-in audience.
In head-to-head competition, WHAS11 News won 101 newscasts over the month compared to 34 for WLKY and 15 for WAVE---that's more than twice the number of WLKY and WAVE combined.
