14th Annual "Visions: The Womens Expo" presents Ultimate Shopping Experience
Dallas, TX -- A great excuse to get together with your girlfriends, get out of the heat, and pamper yourself at a fun event designed just for you - VISIONS: The Women's Expo, the largest event for women in North Texas, will be held August 23-24, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Saturday) and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sunday), at Dallas Market Hall. Founded in Dallas in 1989, this year's event will provide more shopping opportunities than ever before with over 350 exhibitors, offering once a year specials. Shop for unique gifts, shop for your health, home and garden, shop for your pet, shop for fun get-a-ways, and shop for ways you can give back to the community and receive assistance by visiting with more than 40 local non-profit organizations on site.
Attendees will also enjoy a full schedule of presenters and speakers on four stages, book signings, live musical performances, celebrity appearances, and cooking and design demonstrations.
Highlights will include: an appearance by Entertainment Tonight Correspondent Jann Carl; a chat with Jill Cordes, host of the new Solutions with Jill cooking segment on WFAA-TV's Good Morning Texas and host of the Food Network's The Best Of; a live musical performance by Latina singing sensation and 2003 Billboard Music Award nominee Yohany; a visit with film and television actress Niecy Nash, host of the Style Network's new home improvement series Clean House, and star of The Robert Evans Show and Reno 911! on Comedy Central; an appearance by actress Rebecca Budig, Pine Valley's favorite troublemaker Greenlee Smythe on ABC Daytime's All My Children; an outstanding presentation on "The Best of Fall & Holiday Entertaining" with lifestyle writer, author, and entertaining expert Lucinda Hutson, whose ideas have graced the cover of Southern Living Magazine; a JCPenney Fashion Show, produced by International Couture Model Jan Strimple; a raffle for custom-made, designer pet houses by HomeAid Dallas; and a live country concert with singer and songwriter Deric Ruttan, produced by 99.5 the WOLF.
A new element this year is VISIONS' own Teen Talent Competition, American STAR 2003, orchestrated by Genesis Women's Shelter teen volunteer group, STAR (Students Tackle Abusive Relationships). Interested teen participants will have the opportunity to audition throughout the day on Saturday. The winner will be selected from the top five who will be invited to return on Sunday for additional performances. A portion of proceeds from VISIONS: The Women's Expo will benefit Genesis Women's Shelter, a non-profit organization that provides quality safety and shelter for battered women and their children.
Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $12 for a two-day pass, and children under 12 years of age are FREE.
