KMOV Channel 4 kicks off book drive

St. Louis, MO -- () In conjunction with National Literacy Month, KMOV has teamed up with the St. Louis Rams and Schnucks to collect books to help support literacy.

From now through Sunday, September 28, drop off new or slightly used books at participating Schnucks stores. Books will be distributed to literacy organizations throughout the bi-state area by the Literacy Roundtable. Visit KMOV.com or call the Literacy Roundtable at 1-866-814-7323 for drop-off locations.

News Anchor and literacy advocate Vickie Newton is promoting the book drive on KMOV. Newton will be at the Schnucks store in Kirkwood (at the corner of Manchester and Woodlawn) on Friday, September 19, from Noon-2 p.m. to help promote the book drive.

The Literacy Roundtable is a consortium of organizations that represent literacy service providers throughout Missouri and Illinois. Their goal is to increase public awareness of literacy issues and to provide help for the functionally illiterate.
