Al Dia celebrates six months of community service
Dallas, TX -- Al Dia, the number one Spanish-language daily newspaper in North Texas today celebrates six months of service. Al Dia has had a tremendous acceptance in the community, said Gilbert Bailn, president and editor of Al Dia. Thanks to the largest and best news staff for a Spanish-language daily in the Southwest, and an emphasis on practical information, tips, and charts, Al Dia is the most local, most complete, and most read Spanish-language newspaper.
Al Dia'scommitment to its readers has been recognized byorganizations like the Associated Press Managing Editors, where staff writer, Ernesto Londoos Condena Inesperada, a story on HIV growing among Latino women, recently received honorable mention for features, and where Al Dia's website, aldiatx.com, received honorable mention for online newspapers, overall. In addition, Al Dia's Roberto Sanchez recently placed second in The National Press Photographers Associations monthly contest for spot news photography.
But the most important accolades come directly from our readers:
"Thank you for your wonderful article! Another home run! It touched on points not always discussed among Latinos, including the myths and the importance of blood donations to our community. What else could the article have included? Nothing. It was perfect."
"I am a survivor of 9/11, and was very touched by your thoughtful columns on the bombing in Spain. Let me know how I can help."
"Congratulations on your article about the importance of the use of car safety belts. This is exactly the kind of information that the community needs."
In addition, Al Dia supports hundreds of organizations and events, from health and education fairs, to cultural and art exhibits and events at premiere venues like the Dallas Museum of Art and the Latino Cultural Center, and is continuously finding new ways to serve the community, including the recent partnering with the Eduardo Njera foundation and leading companies like Gatorade, Jugos Del Valle, and Interceramic to bring the popular player to local elementary and middle schools to host basketball clinics.
Al Dia's news and sports coverage is late breaking and unrivaled, and it is the only Spanish-language daily in the market with sponsorships of multiple teams including the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Desperados, and Texas Rangers. Leading advertisers including Chevrolet, Home Depot, Staples, Macys, Bank of America, H&R Block and Foleys have discovered Al Dia, as well as its comprehensive news website www.aldiatx.com, as excellent vehicles for their marketing objectives.
Al Dia, published Monday through Saturday, has the largest ABC audited (applied for) daily circulation, with approximately 40,000 copies, and a weekly readership of more than 800,000. Al Dia is the only Spanish-language daily in the market with the capability to deliver to every doorstep via the strong distribution network of The Dallas Morning News, and has more than 4,000 premium distribution points via colorful racks, and inside leading retailers like Carnival, Fiesta and 7-Eleven.
