KHOU-TV launches campaign to help the military

Houston, TX-- KHOU-TV, Channel 11 is teaming up with a group of military moms, Randalls, Halliburton and AIG American General to send care packages to soldiers in Iraq.

KHOU will help Military Moms collect and package boxes to send to troops in Iraq. A long list of items needed including "Moms Top Ten" can be found at khou.com or at any area Randalls store. Moms Top Ten includes socks, underwear, t-shirts, insoles for boots, beef jerky, cotton swabs, bug spray, freezer bags, sun block and instant drink mixes.

"Our military men and women are a long way from home," says Wendy Burkeen, KHOU's Director of Community Marketing. "When a military mom asked us for help, we jumped at the chance as did our military mom partners. We know we can count on our generous viewers to help, as they always do in the Spirit of Texas."

Donations for KHOU's Military Mom campaign will be accepted at Channel 11 studios at 1945 Allen Parkway during business hours (8:30am 5:30pm) or at any area Randalls. The drive will run through Memorial Day. KHOU's Military Mom partners are Randalls, Halliburton and AIG American General.
