KGW.com wins Eppy Award as best "Local Television Internet Service" in the nation
Portland, OR-- In what can only best be described as a remarkable run of recognition, KGW.com, KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8's Website, has been named best Local Television Internet Service today at the Editor & Publisher Interactive Media Conference in Atlanta. This is the 9th year the EPpy Awards have been given to honor Internet sites affiliated with the media industry.
This prestigious national award comes on the heels of being named by the Associated Press as Best Website in Oregon and the Edward R. Murrow Award as Best Website in RTNDA's Region 1. All three of these awards have been won in the second quarter of 2004.
Accepting the award was Jim Parker, KGW.com's Director of News Operations. Reporters Teresa Bell, Abe Estimada and Antonia Giedwoyn have been strong contributors to the success of the website.
