KONG-TV 6/16 holds auditions for "Gimme the Mike" at Everett Mall
Seattle, WA -- KONG TV 6/16 is looking for the next singing sensation.
Local singers will have the chance to show off their talent as KONG TV 6/16 holds auditions for contestants, 16 years and older, to appear on its new television show, "Gimme The Mike." Auditions will take place at Everett Mall - Center Court, Saturday, June 5, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. andSunday, June 6, 11 a.m-5 p.m. Twenty people will be chosen to compete on the "Gimme The Mike" series which debuts on KONG 6/16, Monday, July 19, 7:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
"For the first round of auditions, it will be all about the singing ability," said Jay Cascio, vice president of programming & creative services, KING 5, KONG 6/16 and NorthWest Cable News. "The semi-final rounds will be about the whole package, including voice, style, personality, and what it takes to be a singing sensation," said Cascio.
Contestants will compete on successive shows airing July 19, 20, 26, 27 and August 2. The one-hour grand finale will air, live, August 9, 8 p.m.-9 p.m. All the shows will be coming to you from Seattle's hottest new music venue, The Triple Door. "Gimme The Mike" will be hosted by Evening Magazine's John Curley and local celebrities, including Bender from Jackie & Bender Mornings on KISS 106.1, will serve as judges. The grand prize winner will receive a one-year lease of a Buick Rendezvous courtesy of Westlund Buick GMC, a recording contract and demo CD from Next Generation Music and a talent and modeling contract from Future Stars of America.
