KGW-TV premieres "Gimme the Mike" on June 28
Portland, OR -- After an audition process that spanned two days and involved auditioning over three hundred hopefuls at NE Portland's Ambridge Event Center, NewsChannel 8's premiere episode of "GM Murray Chevrolet Gimme the Mike Presented by Taco Bell" will air on Monday, June 28. The show is hosted by long-time KGW personality Bruce Sussman.
On Monday, viewers will get to see the first episode highlighting some of the Northwest's best vocal talent. Only twenty contestants were selected to compete in the weekly summer television series, which will air from June 28 through August 3, 2004. The first five weeks will air Monday nights at 7:30 on Northwest NewsChannel 8. The winner of the competition, to be broadcast live on Tuesday, August 3 from 8-9 pm, will win a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer from GM and Murray Chevrolet.
