KGW announces last semi-final winner in singing competition

Portland, OR --Loomis Hendrix of Portland, Oregon, singing "Fallin" by Alicia Keys, was the winner of the fifth and final semi-final week of competition on NewsChannel 8's "GM Murray Chevrolet Gimme the Mike Presented by Taco Bell" airing on Monday, July 26. In subsequent web voting on kgw.com, Alex Kepel was chosen as the "viewers' choice" and then competed against four other weekly "wild card" competitors in on-line balloting. The winner of that balloting will be revealed at the Tuesday, August 3 live telecast on NewsChannel 8.

The "Viewers' Choice Winner" will be announced on Tuesday, August 3.

The weekend of auditions and five semi-finalist elimination rounds will culminate in the exciting live broadcast on Tuesday, August 3 from 8-9 p.m. The winner wins a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer from Murray Chevrolet. The show is hosted by long-time KGW personality Bruce Sussman.

The show's producer is Victoria Elliott and the executive producer is Brenda Buratti.
