14th Annual Spirit of Texas Blood Drive

Houston, TX -- KHOU-TV Channel 11 will hold the 14th annual Spirit of Texas Blood Drive on September 2 and 3 at the AIG American General Center, located at 2727 Allen Parkway. Blood donations will be taken from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

KHOU will broadcast live from AIG American General on Thursday and will air updates throughout the day on Friday, in an effort to ensure an adequate supply of blood for the Labor Day Holiday.

Mobile blood units are accepting donations August 23 through September 3 at area Kroger stores. For a list of dates and stores, log on to All those who attempt to donate blood will receive a free Spirit of Texas Blood Drive T-shirt and a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream.
