Dallas, TX -- The annual Dallas White Rock Fitness Expo will kick off Saturday, December 11, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Dallas, 300 Reunion Blvd.

The Expo starts the day before the 35th Annual Dallas White Rock Marathon, benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Under the direction of expo producers Belo Expositions, the fitness expo expanded last year from an informative venue, primarily targeted to White Rock Marathon runners and their guests, to a full-scale consumer event for Dallas' health and fitness-conscious community.

This year's expo will feature a record number of exhibitors offering incredible holiday shopping opportunities and an array of health and fitness-related services for the active consumer public.

In addition, the event will include a full programming schedule of authors and speakers on the TXCN Fitness Stage who will talk about everything from athletic training, sports and nutrition to marathon running, injury prevention and healthy living. Speakers include David Buckner, marathon runner, yoga practitioner, and owner of Bikram Yoga Dallas; Suzie Solenberger Townsend, MS, RD/LD, ACSM, of Planet U Fitness; Larry North, health and fitness guru, personal trainer, and author; Dick Beardsley, champion marathon runner, author, and motivational speaker; Dagny Barrios, author, athlete, and women's running specialist; Arturo Barrios, five-time world record holder and two-time Olympic runner; Bill Rodgers, four-time winner of the Boston marathon; and Frank Shorter, marathoner and two-time Olympic marathon medallist.

Presented by WFAA-TV, Channel 8, The Dallas Morning News, al dia, Quick and TXCN, the 2004 expo will host more than 100 exhibitors and retail vendors, including: A Touch of Italy Boutique, providing Italian charm bracelets, customized with sports and lifestyle charms; sports and fashion sunglasses from Aruba Shades, Cool Shades and Your Eyes; running apparel and footwear from Pearl Izumi, Avia, Run On!, Spring Into Motion, Performance Hats and Fit for Sports; sure-lace systems by Yankz; commemorative plaques from Crossing the Line; healthy food and energy drinks from Delicious N Fit, Elite Performance, Gu Sports Gel, Mrs. Baird's Harvest Selects, Natural Ovens Bakery, POM Wonderful, ProtoCookie, Proto Source, and Clif bar; health and fitness products and services from ophthalmologists Fagadau & Hawk, MD, the Baylor Tom Landry Center, Laney Chiropractic & Sports Therapy, Nikken Health Technology, V3S Performance Network, Polar Heart Rate Monitors, The Stick, TP Massage Ball and more.
