WFAA-TV names Valerie Roberts Executive Producer in station's market leading news department

Dallas, TX - Valerie Roberts has been named executive producer at WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Roberts joins WFAA from WXYZ-TV, the ABC affiliate in the Detroit market where she worked as managing editor. In her new role at WFAA she will oversee the station's dayside news producers, writers, and support personnel and have an instrumental role in shaping editorial content on a daily basis.

"Valerie has extensive news management experience in major markets," said Michael Valentine, WFAA executive news director. "She has worked as both an assistant news director and a news director, and we feel fortunate to hire someone of Valerie's caliber. She will be a fine addition to our newsroom."

Prior to working at WXYZ, Roberts served as news director at WEYI-TV in Flint, Michigan and assistant news director at KDVR-TV in Denver. She begins her new role at WFAA on August 15.
