NorthWest Cable News 10: An Anniversary Sports Special, NWCN continues its 10th Anniversary Celebration with second in series of commemorative news specials

Seattle, WA NorthWest Cable News's celebration of its 10 years on the air continues on Wednesday, August 17 with NWCN 10: An Anniversary Sports Special. The program will air from 9-9:30pm on NWCN. It will look back at some of the biggest sports milestones of the past decade.

NWCN 10: An Anniversary Sports Special will be co-hosted by Michael King, an original member of the NWCN launch team, and Paul Silvi, KING 5 sports director and anchor of NorthWest Sports Tonight on NWCN. Among the stories featured on the special will be the rise of the two new downtown stadiums in Seattle, the Mariners' historic 116-win season, the Seattle Storm's WNBA title and Washington State University's memorable Rose Bowl appearance.

The six-month celebration kicked off with the first in the series, NWCN 10: An Anniversary Special, which aired on June 15 on NWCN. This special took an in-depth look into the origin of NWCN along with several of the most influential and memorable news stories of the northwest region in the past decade. The third installment, airing on Wednesday, October 19, will feature weather stories that have made big news in the past 10 years. The grand finale is scheduled to air on Sunday, December 18, 2005, the exact date of NWCN's tenth anniversary.

NWCN programming can be viewed in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, western Montana, and northern California.

NWCN 10: An Anniversary Sports Special will also air on KING 5 on Thursday, August 18 at 8pm and on KONG-TV 6/16 on Sunday, August 21 at 4pm.
