KVUE News Remains Most Watched News In Austin

Austin, TX - KVUE remains the #1 choice of Central Texans from sign-on to sign-off for the 13th ratings book in a row. Patti Smith, KVUE's President and General Manager said, "With that knowledge, the staff at KVUE realizes the responsibility that goes along with earning our viewer's trust. With our history of award winning commitment to excellence, Central Texans know that they can turn to KVUE as their most trusted source of news and information. That's why more Central Texans get their news from KVUE than from any other source."

2005 has been a defining year for KVUE, further establishing its local and national reputation for excellence by receiving more Edward R. Murrow awards than any television station in the country, including the award for "Overall Excellence." Additionally, the Associated Press honored KVUE with 26 awards, including their award for "Station Excellence." KVUE was the only Austin television station to receive three Lone Star Emmys, honoring the staff on a statewide basis for "Best Anchor, Christine Haas", "Best Photographer" and "Best Hard News Feature". The Texas Headliners Foundation also honored KVUE with its highest award for "Best Spot News Coverage" for reporting on the Central
Texas floods.

"Our successful #1 ranking during both hours of KVUE's Daybreak News, coupled with our success at Midday, our continued #1 ranking at both 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and our #1 ranking at 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, confirms the viewers trust in KVUE," Smith said. "We are looking forward to our future and exercising our strength during late news. Giving up our news audience at 10p.m. on Monday nights due to football in November is over. What is important to realize, is that on the nights where all three stations were competing for Central Texas viewers, Tuesday through Friday, KVUE is #1."

Smith continued, "I am extremely proud of the leadership KVUE provides in the market. From the award winning staff to our abiding commitment to excellence and service to the community, KVUE is proud to be Austin's News Station."
