Stone Named Assistant Director of Operations-Engineering at the Providence Journal
Providence, R.I. -- Rex D. Stone of Johnston, has been named assistant director of operations-engineering at The Providence Journal. In this position, Stone supervises the Electrical, HVAC, Production Maintenance, Building Services, Pressroom and Packaging Maintenance departments of the newspaper.
Stone joined The Providence Journal in 1993 as operations engineering manager. Before joining the Journal, he was a senior engineer at KBA-Motter in York, Pennsylvania; project engineer at Teepak in Danville, Illinois; and design engineer at Chicago's Goss Company.
Stone has degrees in mechanical engineering and engineering administration from Michigan Technical University. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
