Channel 11 Broadcasts Houston Astros SPECIAL

HOUSTON -- KHOU-TV Channel 11 will broadcast "On Deck: National League Champion Houston Astros" on Wednesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. from the Astros ' spring training complex in Kissimmee, Florida.

The hour long 2006 Season Preview hosted by 11News Sports Director Giff Nielsen, will feature interviews and profiles of players and coaches including Astros Manager Phil Garner. The special will include a look back at the magical 2005 season, insights from the coaching staff, a glimpse at the top Astros prospects, and a look at the competition in the National League Central division.

"We've seen two straight miracle seasons for the Astros," says Nielsen. "Can they do it again and what role might seven-time Cy Young award winning pitcher Roger Clemens play with the club? This is the first time in the history of the franchise the Astros will be coming off World Series play. For baseball fans in Houston, this is an exciting time and we want to share it with our viewers." Channel 11 sports reporters Butch Alsandor and Matt Musil will contribute to the special with features and interviews with players and coaches.
