WCNC-TV is #1 Late News; Station is Number One at 11p.m. with Adults 25-54

Charlotte, NC -- According to Nielsen Media Research in February of 2006, WCNC-TV, the Charlotte NBC affiliate, has the most Adult 25-54 viewers of any late newscast in the Charlotte market.

Being the number one late news is a ratings first for WCNC. In addition, the 5 a.m. newscast also achieved a best ever rating and grew to the number two newscast in the time period. President and General Manager Stu Powell shared the news with staff. "This is the best news team in the region. In addition to the win at 11pm and being number two at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., we are the only station that showed growth in our 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. We provide the Charlotte area with more local news than any other station.
