Al Dia Earns Sixteen New Awards
Dallas -- Al Dia , the leading Spanish-language newspaper in North Texas recently earned a combined 16 awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications, the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, the Texas State Teachers Association, and the Society for News Design.
"Dallas-Ft. Worth is the sixth largest Hispanic market and the fastest growing of the top 10. Al Dia is proud to serve the market with the largest and most talented staff of any Spanish-language daily in the Southwest. The National Association of Hispanic Publications, whose members span the country, presented Al Dia with seven awards in March:
Also in March, and for the second consecutive year, the Texas State Teachers Association School awarded Vanesa Salinas the School Bell Award for outstanding continuous coverage of the local school districts. Al Dia was the only Spanish-language newspaper in Texas that received a School Bell award. In addition, in honor of her high-impact design work, Danielle Levkovits received the Award of Excellence for Feature Design and another for Features Page Design Portfolio from the Society for News Design.
