Channel 11 Wins May Sweeps

Houston -- KHOU-TV Channel 11 finished as the number one news station in Houston during the May sweeps period according to Nielsen Media Research. 11News won the mid-day news, 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. 11News This Morning finished a close second in its time period.

The Channel 11 programs finishing first in the May rating period are; 11News at Noon, The Oprah Winfrey Show, 11News at 5, The CBS Evening News, 11News at 6, Wheel of Fortune, CBS prime and 11News at 10.

11News has more households watching its 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts than any other television station in Texas. The Channel 11 ratings victory makes KHOU the number one CBS station in the nation among the top ten U.S. markets for its newscasts at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., mid-day, 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and at 10 p.m. Houston is the nation's tenth largest television market.
