KHOU-TV to Air Hurricane Special
HOUSTON -- KHOU-TV, Channel 11 will preview the 2006 hurricane season in a primetime special "Lessons from the Storms" Monday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. The thirty-minute special features Channel 11's Chief Meteorologist and former director of the National Hurricane Forecast Center, Dr. Neil Frank.
"Lessons from the Storms" reflects upon Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the devastation caused by these powerful storms, and what was learned as a result. Dr. Frank takes a look at what might happen if a hurricane made landfall in Galveston.
The 11News Weather Team, including Dr. Frank and Channel 11 Meteorologists David Paul and Mario Gomez show viewers what they can do to protect their lives and their property during the upcoming hurricane season.
"Lessons from the Storms" is sponsored in part by Randalls, Nationwide Insurance, Keller Williams Realty, CenterPoint Energy and Shell Oil Company. "Lessons from the Storms" will be repeated June 18 at 12:30 p.m. and June 25 at 12 p.m.
