WHAS-TV Awarded Eight Emmys

Louisville, KY - WHAS11 was awarded 8 Emmy Awards at the 42nd Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards ceremony. The regional ceremony honors outstanding achievement in news, sports, production and promotion.

The Emmy for General Assignment Report within 24 hours was presented to reporter Kerri Richardson and photojournalist Jamie Devere for their story "Unshreded Documents." Anchor Rachel Platt and photojournalist Wade Harris were honored with an Emmy for their news report, "Computers: Kids".

In the sports category, one-time special, Executive Producer Deborah Harbsmeier and Photojournalist Bryan Derby were honored with statues for their program, "This is It: A Silver Celebration," a salute to the 1980 University of Louisville National Championship basketball team.

The Emmy Award for Sports Analyst/Play-by-Play was presented to WHAS11/UofL on-air sports announcer Ari Wolfe. Graphic Designer Nathan Fessel was honored with an Emmy for work he created at a previous station. The Ohio Valley region consists of thirteen television markets in four states.
