Channel 11 to Broadcast Football Special
HOUSTON, TX -- Channel 11 will broadcast a prime-time football special, "Houston Pro Football Fever" on Monday, August 21st at 7:30 p.m. The thirty minute show hosted by Channel 11 Sports Director Giff Nielsen features Houston Texan players and coaches and will focus on the upcoming season. The special also includes an interview with the NFL's number one draft pick, Mario Williams.
Gathered around the table for a lively discussion of all things Texan will be former Houston Cougar Quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware, sportscaster and former OU running back Spencer Tillman, the voice of the Texans Marc Vandermeer and Houston Chronicle sports columnist Richard Justice.
"This should be an interesting year," says Channel 11 Sports Director Giff Nielsen. "Houston fans are eager to see if the Texans made the right decision with their first round pick and if their new head coach will bring a winning philosophy to the franchise."
The panel of experts will look into the changes in the Texan organization and give predictions for the season. The Texans' season begins September 10th when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Reliant Stadium.
