Newschannel 8 Hires New Director of Sales and Marketing

PORTLAND, OR -- KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8 is pleased to announce the hiring of Kenneth Freedman as NewsChannel 8 Director of Sales and Marketing. Freedman brings to this position more than 25 years of varied national and local sales experience in large media markets across the U.S.

Freedman comes to NewsChannel 8 from KSTU Television in Salt Lake City, where he has worked as Vice President/General Sales Manager since 2003.

Prior to taking the position at KSTU, Freedman led successful sales teams at WOFL-TV, WRBW-TV and WKMG-TV in Orlando. His sales management experience began at Blair Television and HRP in New York City, where he quickly worked his way up from Account Executive to Vice President/Sales Manager.

Freedman earned his Bachelor's degree from Kent State University. He is married with four children. He begins his new position at NewsChannel 8 on Oct. 30, 2006.
