Channel 11 Wins 13 Lone Star Emmy Awards

HOUSTON -- KHOU-TV, Channel 11 has won 13 Lone Star Emmy Awards from the National Television Academy, more than any other Houston television station including an Emmy for News Excellence.

Emmy's were given to Channel 11 in a number of categories. 11News won an Emmy for Team Coverage of the Enron Verdict.

11News Investigative Reporter, Jeremy Rogalski won three Emmy Awards in the categories of Investigative Report Series; Politics/Government Single Story and Sports News Single Story.

11News Reporter Jason Whitely won two Emmy Awards in the categories of General Assignment Report Within 24 Hours and Health/Science News Single Story.

In the category Human Interest News Single Story, 11News Reporter Nancy Holland won an Emmy for the story, "A Perfect Match."

In the category Writer News, 11News Reporter, Jeremy Desel won an Emmy for his story titled, "Write This."

Channel 11's Entertainment and Feature Reporter, Johnathan Walton won an Emmy Award for the second straight year for his program, "The Best of Walton's World Gone Wild" in the category Magazine Program Program/Special.

"Great Day Houston" host, Whitney Casey won an Emmy Award in the category, On-Camera Talent Program Host/Moderator.

Director of Creative Services, Dale Lockett won an Emmy Award for the campaign "Make Sense of Your World," in the category Promotion News Promo Campaign.

The 11News Graphic Design team of Robyn Hughes, Fotis Gerakis and Eddie Lozano took home an Emmy Award for Animation Excellence.

Each year, the National Television Academy honors excellence in television with its Emmy Awards. The Academy has recognized Texas as its Lone Star Chapter since 2002. The chapter is the largest in the nation.
