"News 4 at 10:00 p.m." the Undisputed Winner in the October Book

KMOV's Early Evening Newscasts Also Show Major Ratings Gains While KSDK Declines

St. Louis -- Following KMOV Channel 4's stunning victory in May 2006 weeknights at 10:00PM, "News 4 at 10PM" has added another impressive victory in October 2006. KMOV is the most watched late news Monday through Friday AND Monday through Sunday. In October 2005, "News at 10PM" trailed KSDK by nearly 2 full rating points, and just one year later erased that deficit and then some winning by nearly three-tenths of a point.

KMOV also posted impressive ratings gains in the early evening news block at the expense of their main competition. From 5:00PM through 6:30PM News 4's ratings have jumped 12.5% versus the same time last year. During the same period of time, KSDK's news block has declined 11.5%.

"We have spent the past 12 months focusing a great deal of energy on the quality of the production of our newscasts, " said President and General Manager, Allan Cohen. "I am extraordinarily proud of the work our newsroom produces on a daily basis."
