Newschannel 8 Leads all Portland Television Stations with 25 Emmy Nominations

Belo Corp. Station Once Again Named More Than all Other Portland Stations

Portland, OR - KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8 has been nominated for twenty-five Emmy Awards, it was announced Saturday night by the Seattle chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). NewsChannel 8's total nominations exceeded that of all other Portland stations combined for the fifth consecutive year. The station was nominated for both station excellence and best newscast, the most coveted categories. Other categories in which NewsChannel 8 received nominations covered all aspects of journalism, including breaking news, investigative reporting, continuing coverage, general assignment reporting, spot news, feature reporting, sports reporting, weather anchor, photography, promotion, and writing. NewsChannel 8's website, kgw.com, was also recognized.
