North Carolina Associated Press Gives WCNC Five First Place Awards
Charlotte, NC WCNC-TV News Director Mary Alvarez accepted the North Carolina Associated Press Overall Excellence Award this past Saturday at a ceremony at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. WCNC captured a total of five first place awards and three honorable mentions in the 2006 North Carolina Associated Press Awards - more than any other television company in the Charlotte market.
First place awards for Enterprise/Investigative reporting, Best Weather, Best Consumer report, and Best Series were announced earlier in April. The final list of WCNC winners and honorable mention awards in the television and radio contest follows:
