WVEC-TV is Honored with 7 Emmy Nominations
Norfolk, VA. - WVEC-TV 13NEWS DAYBREAK is nominated for Excellence in Newscast: Morning/Daytime. The morning team is anchored by LaSalle Blanks, Janet Roach, Meteorologist Craig Moeller, Joe Flanagan, overnight reporter Carl Leimer and Producer/Photojournalist Jason Walsh. 13NEWS DAYBREAK is produced by Brenda Carden.
13NEWS AT 5:00, Anchored by Regina Mobley, Sandra Parker and produced by Bob Bennett is nominated for Best Evening Newscast.
The 13NEWS Team is also being recognized for its unparalleled, "November Nor'easter" storm coverage, a nomination for Continuing Coverage, within 24 Hours.
13NEWS Medical Reporter Kathryn Barrett and photographer Mike Babcock traveled to Iraq and Germany to deliver a six-part, uncompromising look at how our military cares for war wounded. "Healing the Heroes" is nominated for Best Specialty Assignment Reporting.
"Navy Christmas, Holidays at Home & Abroad" is nominated for Outstanding Documentary-Topical. This annual special has been a market favorite for more than 20 years. The show's producing team includes Linda Wenners, Joe Flanagan, Mike Gooding, and Bryan Barbee.
