WHAS11NEWS Leaps to 2nd for Late News at 11pm
Louisville, KY The WHAS11NEWS station commitment to delivering top story news coverage, breaking news, and first alert Stormteam weather coverage continues to resonate with local news viewers and is producing growth in newscasts and other programming.
The preliminary results are in and WHAS11NEWS at 11pm has taken over 2nd place in delivering the late news Monday through Friday and is the only late news product showing growth! Good Morning Kentuckiana on WHAS11NEWS at 5am experienced 33% share growth from the previous year, catapulting it to the #1 local morning newscast at 5am. Good Morning Kentuckiana at 6am held tough with the competition and remains a strong contender.
ABC World News Tonight remains the #1 Network News source for the Louisville market and the gap between ABC WNT and its closest competitor CBS Evening News is widening with 15% share difference.

ABC shows substantial growth in Prime Programming for the Louisville market!
The WHAS11NEWS station grew share year to year by 25% in Monday through Sunday prime. This illustrates that both ABC and WHAS11NEWS are committed to providing the viewers with excellent programming choices. Dancing with the Stars whose series finale delivered a 22.4 / 32sh was one of our top performers and consistently beat American Idol on Tuesday evenings during sweeps.
Grey's Anatomy, ABC's number 1 program, delivered an average rating of 18.1 during sweeps! The Bachelor - Officer and Gentlemen experienced renewed interest and growth averaging a 10.6 during the sweeps period, 33% higher than Bachelors' performance in November of 2006. Desperate Housewives continues its strong performance in the Sunday evening line-up along with Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Lost followers are not lost and remain dedicated to the program delivering strong numbers during this sweeps period.
The WHAS11NEWS station shows growth in Prime Access programming.
Kentuckiana's WHAS11NEWS station continues to show growth in Prime Access as well. This includes both Entertainment Tonight (ET) and Inside Edition (IE). Entertainment Tonight has experienced 15% share growth year over year positioning itself as the top program at 7pm Monday through Friday! Inside Edition has also shown 8% share growth year to year. Both these programs continue to be excellent performers.
ABC is the #1 network with Women 18-34 and Women 18-49 and will continue to strive to deliver a new generation of broad, appealing programming. The 2006-2007 program schedule has delivered a strong season for ABC!
