KVUE continues to dominate Austin ratings.
Austin, TX At any given time during the broadcast day, almost 8,000 more homes in Austin were tuned to KVUE than any other broadcast station according to Nielsen Media Research during the May ratings period.

KVUE News maintained its reign in Austin, coming in #1 every newscast Monday through Friday. KVUE's "Daybreak" at 5am won its slot with a 1.9 rating. "Daybreak" at 6am won its sixth straight ratings period with a 3.4 rating. Three times the audience watched KVUE's 5pm newscast than the closest competing local newscast, earning it a 6.9 rating. Following the trend, the 6pm newscast was a full two ratings points above the rest, continuing to grow and dominate the time period for the third straight book. KVUE News at 10pm won the coveted time slot, finishing with an 8.2.
"Weekend Daybreak", both Saturday and Sunday, continued as #1 in the market, earning a 2.6 and 2.1, respectively. KVUE's Sunday 5:30pm newscast regained its lead position with a 5.1 rating.

Six of the top 10 primetime network programs aired on KVUE, an ABC affiliate station, including "Grey's Anatomy", "Desperate Housewives", "Dancing with Stars", "Dancing with the Stars-The Results", "Lost" and "Brothers & Sisters". "ABC World News with Charles Gibson" also dominated the evening network news with a 7.6 rating, almost 3 points above the closest competing network newscast in the Austin area. "Nightline" beat both "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late Show with David Letterman" during its time slot.
