KVUE.com Top Television Website in Texas
Austin, TX - KVUE.com is the most successful television website in Texas and tenth most successful in the country, according to a new survey released by The Media Audit, a syndicated survey of both online and traditional media including 345 stations in more than 80 US markets. Kvue.com attracts a higher percentage of adults (9.9%) in its market than any other television website in the state.
KVUE's president and general manager, Patti C. Smith states, "KVUE is committed to serving our viewers and online users with the most comprehensive news and weather information in the market; through our television broadcasts and online with Kvue.com. KVUE's commitment translates to our website as we work to provide Central Texans with information they need, when they need it. It is rewarding to know that the community has come to rely on Kvue.com for the same sense of quality and journalistic integrity that they've acknowledged comes from KVUE-TV."
The Media Audit's co-chairman, Robert Jordan points to a growing trend of television websites across the country taking a more aggressive approach to covering breaking news on the web. "This may be an area where broadcasters have a distinct advantage over daily newspapers," says Jordan. "They are much more inclined to embrace the need for continuously updating content on the web. When breaking news occurs in a community, interested residents may be much more inclined to go to a local TV web site because of TV's history of aggressiveness on breaking news."
KVUE's news director, Frank Volpicella adds, "The team of journalists who work hard to make Kvue.com the best on-line source of news and information is honored to be recognized as the best website in Texas, and among the most successful websites in the country. This year Kvue.com was also honored by the Texas Associated Press and RTNDA's Edward R. Murrow foundation for Best Website. We are humbled by these awards and they also motivate us to work even harder to provide journalistic excellence to our online visitors and viewers."
