Belo Television Stations Win Four National Murrow Awards
Belo Corp. announced today that Belo television stations have won four national Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2007, more than all other station groups nationwide in the total number of awards received. The awards recognized KING-TV in Seattle/Tacoma for its Web site KING5.com, WCNC-TV in
"We are honored that four Belo stations were recognized by the RTNDA this year. These awards are a reflection of the dedication and commitment our journalists have to delivering outstanding content to the local communities we serve," said Dunia Shive, Belo President and Chief Operating Officer.
This year's awards bring the total number of national Murrow Awards Belo stations have been awarded to 19 since 2000 and 31 since 1976. Belo's 2007 national awards follow an impressive showing in the 2007 regional competitions where 10 Belo stations garnered 27 regional Murrow Awards.
