KTVB News Group Scores Major Wins in May Ratings

Boise, ID The KTVB News Group posted an impressive first place finish in the May 2007 Nielsen rating period. Long established as the number one rated local news operation in Idaho, KTVB posted jumbo victories in every news day-part.

KTVB widened its lead by large margins in the morning, at 5pm and at 10pm. The audience for Today's Morning News increased 18.6% over last May, climbing to a 51 household share. NBC's Today Show, which follows the morning news, posted a dramatic increase in viewership as well, scaling from a 35 to 51 household share between 7 and 9am.

The News at Five, after clinching a record-breaking 46 household share for KTVB in February, ascended to an historical 51 share in households, up 23% from a year ago. This success was achieved as the station's competitors added and expanded newscasts in the early evening.

"Our staff works hard to serve the public with straight-forward non-sensational journalism. This result means the public notices and appreciates our efforts"; said Doug Armstrong, President and General Manager of the KTVB News Group.

Rounding out the impressive news sweep for KTVB, the News at Ten increased its audience by 21%, posting a 40 household share.
