KREM 2 News Up at 6am. Secures Place As #1 at 5pm & 11pm

Spokane -- In key time periods, KREM 2 News not only leads the way but continues to attract Inland Northwest viewers according to the Nielsen Ratings for May 2007.

KREM 2 News First Edition scored a significant gain in the mornings, up 67% in household ratings and 50% in household share year-to-year against the competition. KREM 2 News First Edition is the only morning newscast to grow share in this time period. The CBS Early Show seems to be riding that trend, also showing household increases of 27% rating/14% share year-to-year.

The "Price Is Right," a television fixture that continues to lead the 10am-11am saw a increase in both rating and share as long-time host, Bob Barker announced his retirement. Just as Barker rules the roost as a daytime game show host, KREM 2 News at Noon continues to dominate the market with a 4.5 rating/24 share more than doubling the competition at that hour.

The Oprah-Dr. Phil combo beat out its daytime competition once again, and KREM 2 News at 5pm cemented its place as the Inland Northwest's source for news and Stormtracker 2 weather information with a 7.7/21 in HH and a solid win with adults and women 25-54.

KREM 2 continues to show both share and ratings growth year-to-year. The situation comedies Friends & Scrubs are finding the funny bones of viewers, both posting significant upswings: Friends, up 16% in rating/25% in share, and Scrubs, up 11% in rating/25% in share year-to-year.

In prime time, CBS remains by far the #1 network in the Inland Northwest. Powered by monster hits such as CSI and CSI Miami, as well as Survivor, Navy CIS and The Unit, the network owns drama and gained a 6% larger share of the audience than it had in May 2006.

KREM 2 News at 11pm solidified its hold on #1 at 11pm with a 4.6 rating/25 share, the second win in a row book-to-book and household ratings growth of 25% over last year

KREM 2 News is also far and away the favorite among Inland Northwest viewers on the weekend. KREM 2 News wins every newscast at 5pm, 6pm and 11pm with newscasts that are a solid #1 in households on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Another testament to the power of KREM 2 News came on KSKN. Despite mammoth ratings from FOX hit American Idol, KREM 2 News on KSKN at 10pm virtually matched its competition in households and even posted a 4% increase in household ratings year-to-year.
