KTVB News Group Names Jim Gilchriest to the Position of Executive News Director
Boise, ID - The KTVB News Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Gilchriest to the job of executive news director. Gilchriest brings over 16 years of journalism experience to the position. Most recently, he served as an executive producer at WCNC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was responsible for managing a joint partnership with the Charlotte Observer newspaper. Gilchriest has worked as a newscast producer, news operations manager, assistant news director and website manager during his career in journalism. In addition to his television, newspaper and internet experience, Jim has performed the roles of news producer, anchor and news manager in the radio news industry.

Gilchriest is the recipient of numerous honors including an Emmy and several Edward R. Murrow and Associated Press Awards. Originally from Syracuse, New York, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in English from the University of North Carolina.
