WVEC-TV13 Remains Most Watched Station in Hampton Roads

Norfolk, VA. -- WVEC-TV13 is the most watched station from sign-on to sign-off, building on its winning streak against all competition during the all important evening news periods of 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00. 13NEWS maintained its viewership with almost a 30% greater share of news viewers than the nearest competitor. 13NEWS, anchored by Regina Mobley, David Alan, Sandra Parker and Janet Roach, earns more viewership than our closest competitors combined.

"It's been quite a month, full of quality stories, breaking news and severe weather days that impacted so many people in Hampton Roads," said President and General Manager Nick Nicholson. "These ratings continue to solidify why more and more viewers choose 13NEWS than ever before." Nicholson added.

Late news growth continued with 13NEWS AT 11:00. The evening newscast brought in more viewers with a 15% increase from February '08.

13NEWS DAYBREAK 6-7am built its showing over last February. More viewers welcomed anchors LaSalle Blanks, Vanessa Coria and Meteorologist Craig Moeller into their morning routine.

13NEWS MONEY WATCH reports provided compelling content that focused on economic issues. 13NEWS WEATHER LAB kept viewers safe and informed when inclement weather threatened the market. "This news organization is the best and viewers know we are there each day and when times are even tougher," said Rich Lebenson, Executive News Director, "when tornadoes hit the Suffolk area, viewers turned to 13NEWS more than any other news station for updates and relative information." Lebenson added.

Furthermore, WVEC-TV13's programming continued to dominate the market, lead by The Oprah Winfrey Show, followed by the #1 access hour of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
