WHAS11 Reigns #1 as Kentuckiana's Most Trusted Source for News

Louisville, KY -- The preliminary May 2008 Nielsen Ratings are in, and the results show more people in Kentuckiana homes watch WHAS11NEWS than any other local TV station! WHAS11NEWS reigned as the #1 source for local news in the month-long May 2008 sweep.

WHAS11NEWS ranked as the #1 local newscast in the market for early morning news with Good Morning Kentuckiana weekdays at 5:00am, 6:00am and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. WHAS11NEWS also ranked as the #1 source for local news at 5:00pm, 5:30pm and 6:00pm. WHAS11NEWS ranked #2 M-F at 11:00pm plus showed strong growth at 10:00pm. Throughout the May Sweeps period, more people tuned to WHAS11 than any other local news.

WHAS11NEWS Good Morning Kentuckiana increased its total audience over 40% at 6:00am and added 13,000 more homes to its average this May 2008 compared to last year. This growth for GMK continues from November and February's strong resurgence when Good Morning Kentuckiana had shown significant growth from the previous year.

WHAS11NEWS at 5:00P, 5:30P and 6:00P is the market's long-time leader in news and continues to build on that strength. Total homes for WHAS11NEWS 5:00 6:30PM increased 6%, with WHAS11NEWS at 6:00 adding 6,000 more homes to its average this May 2008

Top ABC program Dancing with the Stars dazzled 100,000 homes every Monday and Tuesday night during the May 2008 sweep. Olympic gold medalist, Kristi Yamaguchi was crowned the winner of this season's Dancing with the Stars.

The Oprah Winfrey Show increased her audience 13% and 4,000 homes in May 2008 from the previous year.

NBA PLAYOFF action also received increased viewership, with the primetime game scoring a 5.7 rating/ 10 share which is up 171% over last year's primetime game. Sunday games were up 35% from last year.
