KGW NewsChannel 8 Leads All Portland Television Stations with Four Emmy Awards

Belo Corp. Station Once Again Recognized More Than Any Other Portland Station

PORTLAND, OR -- KGW NewsChannel 8 was the winner of four awards given by the Seattle chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) in a competition that included the Seattle market. NewsChannel 8 received four of the seven awards given to Portland commercial television stations. KGW NewsChannel 8's top-rated morning and evening newscasts were both recognized for excellence. In addition, the station was recognized for best team coverage in Portland for coverage of the December storm, and for best sports story.
