Providence Journal summertime fund's 35th season is underway

PROVIDENCE , R.I. - The Providence Journal Summertime Fund, a 501(c)3 charity, which sends local children in need to day camp each year, has begun its 35th season.

Donations to the Summertime Fund come from a variety of sources including readers, corporate gifts, employee fundraisers, student fundraisers, family remembrances and other special occasions. Last year, the Journal Summertime Fund raised $67,468.50 and provided 337 local children, ages 5 to 14, an opportunity to experience the benefits of a summer day camp program.

To contribute to the Summertime Fund, mail a check or money order to The Providence Journal Summertime Fund, 75 Fountain St., Providence, R.I. 02902. Donations are reported in a weekly Summertime Fund ad published every Thursday in The Providence Journal and posted on the Journal's Web site, projo.com, at projo.com/giving.
