Al Dia Launches Emerging Latino Leaders Program

Dallas TX, May 23, 2008 Spanish-language daily newspaper Al Dia and the Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GDHCC) said announce a new program to recognize a new generation of Hispanic Leaders.

The program recognizes twenty (20) individuals from the Dallas/Fort Worth area whose contributions have a positive impact to the local Hispanic Community in the areas of Community services, Arts and Culture, Business and Sports.

Al Dia will run the 20 profiles of the individuals selected starting on July 24. A panel of judges integrated by Al Dia and the Hispanic Chamber representatives will consider nominations and submissions from the public.

The 20 "new leaders" will be recognized in a December 10 gala event.

"We're proud of this program to recognize new local leaders representing the values of our Latino community and are an example to all," said Cici Rojas, Executive director of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "This is the new generation of future leaders that deserves to be recognized for their contributions to the community".

Although Al Dia and the Hispanic Chamber are taking the lead on recognizing new leaders, they ask the public to participate and nominate individuals whose work benefit the community.

Thus, the public can submit nominations through forms that will be available at the Hispanic Chamber offices, participating businesses and community organizations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
