11 News Offers Content Feast

HOUSTON - In an all out effort to keep Houstonians on top of the latest local and statewide results, KHOU-TV/DT will be providing 11News Election Coverage across four platforms for its Election '08 coverage on Tuesday, November 4th.

"This election is historic and 11News is going to serve up the best experts, new technology and our award-winning news team to deliver the Houston and Texas angle as we reach the culmination of Campaign 08," said Channel 11 President and General Manager Susan McEldoon.

11News anchors Greg Hurst, Lucy Noland and Len Cannon host coverage along with veteran political reporter Doug Miller and 11News Political Expert Bob Stein. More than a dozen crews will report live from key campaign watch locations.

"We are excited about showing off new, on-set, story telling technology and research will enable us to project early on whether Harris County goes in the red or blue column," said Executive News Director Keith Connors.

The "quadruple cast" will consist of 11News election coverage on four platforms: Channel 11, Channel 11.2/Comcast 310 the station's digital channel, KHOU.com and KHOU.com/Mobile. 11News election night coverage will be broadcast in High Definition and will wrap around CBS network coverage.

New technology used by 11 News includes interactive graphics on air and on-line. "KHOU.com will have Houston's most comprehensive offering whether you are a political junkie, or following the hot local races in your county," said Christine DiStadio, Director of Digital Media.
KHOU.com will be utilizing multiple digital platforms including web, mobile, LIVE streaming video and several interactive features to involve the viewer and let their voices be heard using integrated technology to provide a great user experience.

KHOU.com will be offering the service of the Associated Press for elections results for the presidential race as well as every gubernatorial, Senate and congressional contest and state initiatives of national importance. In addition, users will be able to track the hot local races on a county by county basis so users can easily find those they care about.

Election coverage begins at 7pm and continues through the night, simulcast with 11News coverage on Channel 11.
