Sherry Williams Joins KHOU-TV Channel 11
Houston, TX - Houston native Sherry Williams joins KHOU-TV/DT Channel 11. Sherry can be seen on Channel 11 as a newsroom reporter for "11 News This Morning," weekdays from 5 to 7 a.m., and she also does packages for the evening newscasts.
"We're very excited to have someone with Sherry's journalistic credentials coming on board," says KHOU Executive News Director Keith Connors. "Not only does she know the business, with more than 20 years experience in broadcast news, but because she has spent most of her life here, Sherry knows the Houston community."
Sherry has worked for TV and radio stations in Houston, Dallas and Detroit, as well as a correspondent for Black Entertainment Television. Most recently Sherry anchored the 9 p.m. news at Channel 39, and prior to that she was a reporter at Fox 26.
"Everyone at KHOU has made me feel right at home," Sherry said, "and I'm excited to be back on the air. So many Houston viewers have been kind enough to tell me how much they have missed seeing me. Well, I've missed them too."
Sherry has been nominated for Emmy Awards for reporting, as well as for producing and hosting a talk show. She has won awards from the Associated Press, the Houston Press Club, the Dallas Press Club and United Press International.
