KREM 2 Big Winner in May Sweeps
Spokane, WA - KREM 2 is watched by more households in Spokane than any other station in the market sign-on to sign-off according to the Nielsen ratings from April 23 May 20, 2009. KREM 2 also saw growth in the number of household (HH) viewers, gaining 6,000 homes year-to-year (YTY), and was the only Spokane station to see growth in HH ratings, increasing by 14% YTY. KREM 2 is also up in the key demographic most advertisers are targeting; adults 25 to 54.
KREM 2 News sees continual growth in viewership:
At 5:00 a.m. KREM 2 News First Edition gains 33% in HH share YTY, and grows 22% in the key A25 to 54 demo. At 6:00 a.m. the news is even better with 36% growth in HH share and increasing its A25 to 54 share by 23% YTY. These numbers are impressive especially considering that KREM 2 News First Edition was the only Spokane station to see growth YTY.
KREM 2 News is the only local station to provide viewers with a noon newscast and it dominates this time period with a HH rating higher than all other Spokane stations combined. KREM 2 News at Noon also increased its A25 to 54 share by 55% YTY.
KREM 2 News at Five wins its time period in HH and in the key A25 to 54 demo. It also increased its HH share by 11% YTY.
KREM 2 News at Six sees ratings growth and is first in HH ratings. It is the only 6:00 p.m. newscast to see HH share growth, up 26%, and is up in all key demos YTY.
KREM 2 news at Eleven is in a close race for first place and wins the battle of the key A25 to 54 demo.
KREM 2 programming wins big:
"Dr. Phil" wins all key demos and is a solid number one with 39% of HH share. "Oprah" wins its time period in every demo, and increases its A25 to 54 share by 5% YTY. "The Doctors" quadruples its HH share YTY from "Friends/Scrubs."
