Spokane, WA - KREM and KSKN-TV are pleased to announce the promotion of RJ Merritt from local sales manager to director of sales.
"We are excited about RJ's new role. In his years with Belo, he has exhibited the exceptional performance, leadership and creativity that this sales environment demands," said KREM President and General Manager Jamie Aitken.
Merritt comes into this position with over 10 years of advertising sales experience. He was promoted from Account Executive to local sales manager of Belo-owned KSKN Television in February 2002. In 2007, Merritt added management of all interactive products within the Belo Media Group Spokane and in 2008 he added KREM Television to his responsibilities.
Merritt is a graduate of the first Broadcast Sales Academy (BSA) in 2000, and was the first BSA graduate to move into a management position in Belo. He was the first recipient of the Belo Marketing Solutions Synergy Award in February 2001.
Merritt has a degree in graphic design from Western Washington University where he was also an NCAA collegiate soccer player. He also has a B.S. in organizational communications from Eastern Washington University.
