KHOU-TV/DT Rises with 11 News First Look
HOUSTON - Beginning Labor Day, September 7th, KHOU-TV/DT Channel 11 will break new ground with Houston's first 4:30 am newscast called 11News First Look. The program will be anchored by Sherry Williams, currently a reporter for 11News This Morning, along with meteorologist David Paul.
"Houston is a 24/7 town," said Susan McEldoon, KHOU President and General Manager. "We want to be there for early risers, commuters, shift workers or anyone else who is up early looking for important information to help them start their day. 11News First Look is created with them in mind."
"11News First Look will deliver what it promises in its name a "first look" at all the important breaking news and overnight developments, along with traffic updates to plan your commute and the weather forecast to plan your day," said Keith Connors, KHOU Executive News Director. "The addition of this broadcast allows us to reach a new segment of our audience who are up and out the door before 11News at 5am begins."
Both Williams and Paul will continue their current roles with 11News this Morning from 5-7 a.m. with anchors Vicente Arenas and Christine Haas. CBS Morning News, a half-hour CBS News broadcast featuring late-breaking news, weather and sports, will move to 4:00 a.m.
