Harding Named WCNC Executive News Director

Charlotte, NC - WCNC-TV announced the hiring of Corrie A. Harding as Executive News Director of NewsChannel 36.

He comes to WCNC-TV from WPXI-TV, the NBC affiliate in Pittsburgh, where he served as News Director since 2005. Prior to WPXI, Harding served in a variety of news management roles at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, KXAS-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth and WOIO/WUAB-TV in Cleveland, Ohio.

WCNC-TV President and General Manager, Tim Morrissey said "Corrie comes to us with a wealth of experience, energy and a history of journalistic excellence. Under Harding's leadership, news operations have been honored with numerous Edward R. Murrow awards, AP awards and Emmy awards.

He's served as a news director, assistant news director, managing editor, executive producer, investigative producer and newscast producer during the last 23 years.

Harding is a graduate of Northwestern University.

He joins the WCNC-TV team on November 30, 2009.
